MedaPhor’s revolutionary ScanTrainer Professional simulator offers a unique self-learning ultrasound scanning experience that replicates being taught one-to-one by an expert.

ScanTrainer Professional simulator platforms are available as two separate simulators (TAS or TVS) or one combined simulator. Simply pick your hardware platform and add your training modules and case studies to suit your training needs and budgets.

  • General Medical

    The TAS Upper Abdomen Core Skills package covers upper abdominal scanning skills on normal patients for liver, gall bladder, bile ducts, spleen, pancreas, both kidneys, aorta, bladder and prostate.

  • Gyneacology

    Core transvaginal and transabdominal gynae scanning skills are taught using a range of normal patients. TVS Advanced Skills modules cover a range of pathologies from fibroids and endometriomas through to a uterus didelphys.

  • Obstetrics

    TVS obstetrics modules include core first trimester scanning techniques, as well as key Advanced Skills, including scanning ectopic pregnancy, miscarriage and multiple pregnancies. TAS obstetric modules covers trimester dating, anomaly and growth scannings, 20-week Fetal Anomaly Screening Programme and Diagnosis of Intrauterine fetal death module.

  • Emergency Medicine

    TVS scanning in emergency context using the core female pelvis examination scanning skills combined with ectopic, early pregnancy at 6 weeks and miscarriage teaching modules. TAS FAST Core Skills module teaches the trainee how to obtain the required FAST views for scanning in an emergency and trauma environment.

The ScanTrainer Professional Transvaginal Simulator (TVS) uses an endo-cavity haptic probe and constraint to accurately replicate the feel of conducting transvaginal ultrasound examinations.

ScanTrainer TAS


A unique floor-mounted haptic device, developed specifically for ScanTrainer Professional, replaces the need for manikins and provides a highly realistic abdominal scanning experience, replicating different patient and body part profiles.

A virtual patient is shown on the second display to help with probe placement. This enables the system to cover various specialities, including Obstetrics, Gynaecology, General Medical and Emergency Medicine, with no additional hardware.
